Ans.	The Chinese New Year starts between January 21st and February 20th.

Q.2:	Why do Chinese families do thorough cleaning of their houses before New Year’s Day?

Ans.	It has great importance. The Chinese families come together on the Eve of New Year to revive their relationship with each other. They welcome the new year with great festivities and merry making.
اس کی بہت اہمیت ہے۔ چینی خاندان نئے سال کے موقع پر ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ اپنے تعلقات کو بحال کرنے کے لئے اکٹھے ہوئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے بڑے جشن کے ساتھ اور خوشیاں مناتے ہوئے نئے سال کو خوش آمدید کہتے ہیں۔

Ans.	Since the Chinese lunar calendar is based on the phases of the moon which has a shorter cycle than the sun. So the Chinese New Year is never on the same day each year.
چونکہ چینی قمری کیلنڈرکی بنیاد چاند کے بدلنے پر ہے جس کا ایک چکر سورج سے چھوٹا ہوتا ہے۔ چنانچہ چینی نیا سال کبھی بھی ہر سال ایک ہی دن نہیں ہوتا ہے۔

Ans.	Chinese believe that by cleaning houses before new year day, they will get rid of bad luck and the new year will bring good luck for them.

Ans.	The dinner consist of eight or nine dishes because in Chinese language the word “eight” mean “prosperity” and “nine” mean “long-lasting”

Q.11:	Is Chinese belief about people having character traits of animals a fact or an opinion?
کیا جانوروں کی خصوصیات کے حامل افراد کے بارے میں چینی عقیدہ حقیقت ہے یا رائے ہے؟
Ans.	It is an opinion not a fact. It is baseless belief and has nothing to do with the people character.
