Sentence & its kinds Sentence: A group of words in a certain arrangement which gives complete sense is called sentence. e.g. Ali is working hard. He has bought a pen. الفاظ کا ایک گروپ ایک خاص ترتیب میں جو مکمل معنی دیتا ہے اسے فقرہ/جملہ کہتے ہیں۔ جیسے علی سخت محنت کر رہا ہے۔ اس نے ایک قلم خرید لیا ہے۔ Kinds of sentences: The kinds of sentences are given below. Ø  Assertive sentence Ø  Interrogative sentence Ø  Imperative sentence Ø  Exclamatory sentence Ø  Optative Sentence Assertive Sentence: A sentence that makes a statement is called an Assertive sentence. e.g. We are friends. They work for the country. ایک جملہ جس میں کوئی سادہ بات کی جائے اسے Assertive جملہ کہتے ہیں۔ جیسے ہم دوست ہیں. وہ ملک کے لئے کام کرتے ہیں۔ The statement can be positive or negative. Ø  Positive Sentence: A sentence that give positive statement. e.g. She worked hard. Ø  Negative Sentence: A sentence that make negative statement. e.g. I shall not waste time. بات مثبت یا منفی ہوسکتی ہے۔ مثبت جملہ: ایک ایسا جملہ جو مثبت بیان دے۔ جیسے اس نے بہت محنت کی۔ منفی جملہ: ایک ایسا جملہ جس میں منفی بات کی جائے۔ جیسے میں وقت ضائع نہیں کروں گا۔ Interrogative Sentence: A sentence that asks a question is called an Interrogative sentence. e.g. Where do you live?      Are you going there? ایک جملہ جس میں  سوال پوچھا  جائے اسے سوالیہ جملہ کہا جاتا ہے۔ جیسے آپ کہاں رہتے ہیں؟  کیا تم وہاں جارہے ہو؟ Imperative Sentence: A sentence that expresses a command, order, request or advice is called an Imperative sentence. e.g. Be quiet.                ایک جملہ جس میں حکم ، درخواست یا نصیحت کی جائے اسے Imperative جملہ کہا جاتا ہے۔ جیسے خاموش رہو. Exclamatory Sentence: Sentences which express some strong feelings or emotions such as joy, sorrow, regret, surprise, wonder etc., are called exclamatory sentences.  What a marvelous sight!  How beautiful the flower is!  Hurrah! We have won.  Alas! She is no more. وہ جملے جن میں اچانک جذبات کا اظہار کیا جائے جیسے خوشی ، غمی ، افسوس ،تعجب ، حیرت ۔ان کو exclamatory جملہ کہتے ہیں۔جیسے           کتنا حیرت انگیز نظارہ ہے! کتنا خوبصورت پھول ہے!   آہا ! ہم جیت گئے ہیں۔  افسوس! وہ وفات پا گئی ہے۔ Optative Sentence: Sentences which express a keen wish, prayer, curse etc., are called Optative sentences.  May you live long!  May God help you! ایسے جملےجو گہری خواہش ، دعا ، لعنت وغیرہ کا اظہار کرتے ہیں ، Optative وجملے کہلاتے ہیں۔  خدا کرے آپ کی عمر لمبی ہو!  خدا آپ کی مدد کرے!
