Q.1:	Why didn’t the old man follow the advice of the doctors?
بوڑھےآدمی  نے ڈاکٹروں کے مشورے پر عمل کیوں نہیں کیا؟
Ans.	The old man thinks that by following doctor’s advice he would have to leave work and as a result he would die soon.
بوڑھا آدمی سوچتا ہے کہ ڈاکٹر کے مشورے پر عمل کرکے اسے کام چھوڑنا پڑے گا اور اس کے نتیجے میں وہ جلد ہی دم توڑ جائے گا۔
Q.2:	What had the doctor told the old man?
ڈاکٹر نے بوڑھےآدمی کو کیا بتایا تھا؟
Ans.	The doctor told him that he had short time to live so he should do rest at home.
ڈاکٹر نے اسے بتایا کہ اس کے پاس زندہ  رہنے کے لئے بہت کم وقت ہے لہذا اسے گھر میں آرام کرنا چاہئے۔

بوڑھا آدمی اپنے بیٹے کو کہاں لے گیا؟
Ans.	The old man took his son on top of the mountain.
بوڑھا آدمی اپنے بیٹے کو پہاڑ کی چوٹی پر لے گیا۔

کیا بیٹا پہلے کبھی وہاں گیا تھا؟
Ans.	With the exception of last three years, he had been over that point many times.
سوائے پچھلے تین سالوں کے  وہ کئی بار اس مقام پر گیا۔
Q.5:	What were the names of vegetables the old man grew on his farm?
بوڑھے آدمی کے فارم پر اگنے والی سبزیوں کے کیا نام تھے؟
Ans.	The old man grew potatoes, yams and tomatoes on his farm.
بوڑھے نے اپنے فارم پر آلو ،شکر قندی اور ٹماٹر اگائے۔

بوڑھے نےڈھلوانی راستہ کیوں اختیار کیا؟
Ans.	The old man took the steep path to check his physical fitness.
بوڑھے نے اپنی جسمانی تندرستی کو جانچنے کے لئےڈھلوانی راستہ اختیار کیا۔
Q.7:	Why did the son at the age of six cry?
چھ سال کی عمر میں بیٹا کیوں رویا؟
Ans.	The son lost his little wooden plough in a furrow so he cried on his loss at the age of six.
بیٹا اپنا ایک چھوٹا سا لکڑی کا ہل  کھو گیا جس کی وجہ سے وہ چھ سال کی عمر میں اپنے نقصان پررویا۔
Q.8:	What were the feelings of the old man at the age of seventy?
ستر سال کی عمر میں بوڑھے آدمی کے احساسات کیا تھے؟
Ans.	He thought that he had completed the days of his life, now the memories are treasure for him. So he wanted to enjoy his remaining days by visiting old places.
اس کا خیال تھا کہ اس نے اپنی زندگی کے دن پورے کرلیے ہیں ، اب یادیں اس کے لئے قیمتی ہیں۔ لہذا وہ پرانی جگہوں کی سیرکرکے اپنے باقی دنوں سے لطف اندوز ہونا چاہتا تھا۔
Q.9:	Why had the old man planted his secret garden?
بوڑھے نے اپنا خفیہ باغ کیوں لگایا تھا؟
Ans.	He planted his secret garden on a rich soil which is different from other land and that would give a better flavour to taste of yams, tomatoes and potatoes.
اس نے اپنا خفیہ باغ ایک زرخیزمٹی پر لگایا جو دوسری سرزمین سے مختلف ہے اور اس سےشکر قندی ، ٹماٹر اور آلو کے ذائقہ کو بہتر مہک ملے گی۔
